Birthdays in Nairobi often default to a restaurant. A day in Tigoni gives the group something to do together, a change of scenery and a better story afterwards, all within an hour of the city. Here is how to plan one.
Pick a group activity
Choose something that everyone can enjoy regardless of fitness. E-bike rides work well for mixed groups because the motor evens things out, though groups are capped at six riders per ride, so larger parties ride in turns or combine activities. A guided hike or tea walk suits groups of any size and lets people chat as they go.

Book the lunch early
A long lunch is the celebration. Book well ahead for weekend groups, confirm whether you can bring a cake, and ask about set menus for larger parties. Farm lunches and garden cafés around Tigoni are popular for birthdays.

Sort out transport
Getting a group to Tigoni and between stops is the trickiest part. Hire a van or minibus with a driver, or ask us to arrange transport as part of a custom day, so nobody has to drive home after lunch.

A simple birthday plan
- 8:00 – Group pick-up in Nairobi.
- 9:30 – Guided ride or walk through the tea.
- 12:30 – Birthday lunch with cake.
- 15:00 – Group photos with the tea fields behind you.
- 16:00 – Head back to Nairobi.
Let us plan it
A custom day combines activities, lunch and transport into one plan and one price, so the person organising can enjoy the day too. Send us the date and group size for a quote.
