Tigoni has three main ways to spend a guided morning: a two-hour e-bike ride on the farm roads, a slower walk between the rows of a tea farm, or a hike on forest tracks and footpaths. All three show you the same green hills, but they feel very different. Here is how to choose.
The short answer
- Want to see the most ground with the least effort? Choose the e-bike tour.
- Curious about how tea is grown and want an easy, slow pace? Choose the tea farm walk.
- Want exercise, forest and quieter paths? Choose the hike.
- Mixed group, celebration or team day? A custom day can combine them.
E-bike tour: the most ground in two hours
The e-bike tour follows red-earth farm roads through the tea for about two hours. The electric motor does most of the work on the climbs, so riders of different fitness can stay together, and you cover far more of the countryside than on foot.
It suits couples, friends and confident teenagers who can ride a bicycle. Groups are capped at six riders, with start times at 9:00, 12:00 and 15:00. It costs KSh 3,500 per person, bike and helmet included.

Tea farm walk: slow, easy and full of detail
The tea walk follows the footpaths between the rows of a working farm. Your guide explains how the bushes are pruned, how pickers take two leaves and a bud, and what happens to the leaf after it is weighed. The pace is gentle, with plenty of stops for questions and photos.
It suits families, older visitors, first-time visitors to Kenya and anyone who would rather learn than exercise. It costs KSh 4,500 per person.

Hike: forest tracks and a proper workout
The hike links farm tracks, shaded forest lanes and tea-field footpaths into a loop. We match the length and climbing to your group, from an easy walk to a longer route with hills. Expect mud after rain, especially from March to May.
It suits walkers, runners and groups who want to move. Prices start at KSh 3,000 for Kenyan citizens (KSh 4,000 residents, KSh 5,000 non-residents).

Side by side
- Effort: e-bike low to moderate · tea walk low · hike moderate to high.
- Ground covered: e-bike the most · tea walk the least · hike in between.
- Learning about tea: tea walk the most · e-bike and hike some.
- Best in the rain: tea walk, on shorter paths; rides and hikes may be rerouted.
- Price per person: e-bike KSh 3,500 · tea walk KSh 4,500 · hike from KSh 3,000.
Combining activities
If you cannot decide, do two. A morning ride followed by an afternoon tea walk makes a full day, with lunch in between at a farm restaurant. For groups, a custom day puts the activities, lunch and timing into one plan and one price.

Frequently asked questions
Which Tigoni activity is easiest?
The tea farm walk. It is on farm paths with gentle slopes and a slow pace, and can be shortened for children or older visitors.
Do I need to be fit for the e-bike tour?
No. You need to be able to ride a bicycle, but the electric motor does most of the work on the hills.
